Buzz Off, Busybody!

Buzz off, Busybody!

Last week, YAB Tan Sri Adenan Satem was sworn in as Sarawak's fifth Chief Minister on Friday taking over from Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, who served Sarawak for thirty-three years. As a true blue Penangite who has very close ties with many Sarawakians from different walks of life, I take umbrage to CM Lim Guan Eng’s recent statement on the swearing in of Tan Sri Adenan Satem as Chief Minister of Sarawak in his blog for four main reasons.

Omission of his title Tan Sri

It is shocking that CM Lim Guan Eng has not observed protocol and addressed YAB Tan Sri Adenan Satem as plain Adenan.

How can CM Lim write this in his press statement?

DAP congratulates 70 year old Adenan Satem for being appointed as Sarawak’s fifth chief minister after taking his oath of office before Yang Dipertua Negeri Abang Muhammad Salahuddin Barieng yesterday. Even though Adenan is taking over...
Is he showing respect by this omission?

Order out of Line

Secondly, I do take offense CM Lim Guan Eng’s went out of line with audacious ‘order’ for YAB Tan Sri Adenan to ‘make his mark by resolving 3 major issues’ which CM Lim identified in his statement.  What makes CM Lim Guan Eng think he has the moral/legal/political right to give such conditions, pre-requisites, or orders for YAB Tan Sri Adenan to fulfill? Even the former CM YAB Tan Sri Taib did not give such a to-do list even though he could well have done so! CM Lim would do well to concentrate on resolving the many issues plaguing Penang such as traffic jams, congestion, and the dire need for low-cost housing, car park problems, and water pollution in Batu Feringghi and so on. If he cannot take care of his own turf, why act like a big brother to a seasoned, wise, and experienced politician?

Outrageous Plagiarism

Thirdly, I am appalled that whoever wrote CM Lim Guan Eng’s speech plagiarized directly some section in the third and fourth paragraph of the statement from a report featured by FZ.Com titled FZ Says: Tallying the price of Taib’s rule, which was published HERE on 12th February 2014. Worse still, is the serious grammatical error when the smart alec tried to change the first two words. See the following table:

This part of Lim Guan Eng’s statement:

Despite having the 2nd highest GDP per capita in Malaysia at RM33, 000, the Social Statistics Bulletin records that Sarawak has only 7 rural clinics out of 212 government run health facilities..

 is actually from Fz.com

FZ Says: Tallying the price of Taib’s rule which said The Social Statistics Bulletin records that despite being the largest state in the country (omitted by Lim Guan Eng writer), Sarawak has only seven rural clinics out of 212 government-run health facilities.

The next part from Lim Guan Eng’s statement is also plagiarized:

LGE statement: Sarawak also have(LGE’s writer made serious grammatical mistake – should be ‘has’) the 2nd highest number of workers with no formal education after Sabah, accounting for 22.6% out of the national total.  Together with those who only have primary education, they make up 35.4% of the national workforce who are considered functionally illiterate as classified by the World Bank.(copied WORD FOR WORD except for error from FZ.com) is from the same article in FZ.com which said:

Sarawak also has the second highest number of workers with no formal education, after Sabah, accounting for 22.6% of the national total. Together with those who only have primary education, they make up 35.4% of the national workforce who are considered functionally illiterate, as classified by the World Bank.
The Sarawak State Health Department website states that “Sarawak has 187 rural health clinics that function as "one-stop" family health centres, providing an integrated service comprising maternal & child care, general outpatient care and environmental sanitation. All clinics have rest beds and birthing facilities to encourage safe delivery.”

For all the empty talk of CAT (Competency, Accountability and Transparency), everyone can see this is FIRST CLASS plagiarism, cheating whereby the source of information is not mentioned and the section COPIED is not marked with either quotation marks or italics. What a load of hogwash in CAT!

This same Chief Minister has the audacity to give YAB Tun Adenan Satem orders!  What a joke! What sort of person would write so unethically or ask someone to writeand then NOT CHECK thoroughly what has been written? Someone should do an audit of ALL his press statements to see how much is original and what has been plagiarized! This is accountability for you ala CM Lim Guan Eng!

Busybody

Sarawakians are known for their harmonious way of life despite the diversity in ethnicity.  Mutual respect and honouring other people is certainly a trademark for Sarawakians. CM Lim has not basis for being a busybody poking his nose in Sarawak’s politics when he and his team are getting so much flak. Even his own political secretary resigned today so it would do CM Lim and Penang a lot of good if he learns to take care of his own turf instead of lording over Tan Sri Adenan.

Buzz off, busybody!
