Trust Anwar? Think Again!

In a self-glorifying spree, Anwar Ibrahim has been gloating over how he is the preferred choice of foreign media in interviews over the disappearance of MH370. He waxed lyrical about Australian PM Tony Abbott’s decision to discuss the MH370 issue in Parliament without trying to understand why this was not discussed in the Dewan Rakyat. Given the deep rift between the two coalitions, our government did right in steering it out of the House for surely the Opposition would have jumped at the opportunity to slam the government thereby exacerbating an already delicate situation.

Anwar’s over simplistic and tunnel-visioned view that ‘the Malaysian radar system should have been able to detect the missing aircraft’ is definitely laughable as he based his knowledge on the Marconi radar system purchased during his tenure as DPM (1993-1998). In case he has forgotten, 18 years have passed and technology has improved so much that electronic warfare technology and stealth technology has made incredible inroads. If Anwar’s premise were correct, neighbouring countries would have been able to detect the aircraft and to inform us as well. As it stands, aviation experts are still trying to understand how MH370 slipped through the cracks.

One must remember and question the close ties Anwar has with international organisations. Does he have the credibility to speak on MH370 when he and his wife have given opposing views of his relationship with Capt Zaharie? Wan Azizah said he does not know Capt Zaharie whilst The Daily Mail said, “After previously denying he recognised the pilot’s name, opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim admitted that Malaysia Airlines MH370 Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah is related to his son-in-law.”

Interestingly, while Anwar boasts about CNN, a UK press and the Chinese press interviewing him, he does not dare to refer to this revelation. Selective memory at work? In fact, he was up in arms and asking who had leaked that information to The Daily Mail. Unfortunately, many Anwaristas are so blinded that they are robbed of their reasoning abilities and accept wholesale anything and everything endorsed by Anwar and his ilk.

Why is Anwar so close to the West? Who funds PKR? How does he run his Anwar Ibrahim Consulting Associates Company operating from Virginia, Washington, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur providing global advisory services for strategy & finance? The home page here is an empty shell. This slide presentation provides an interesting proposition about Anwar’s financial background.

Instead of running down the government, Anwar should provide explanations regarding his close connections with George Soros, Carl Gershman (National Endowment for Democracy President), Wolfowitz,
Asian Dialogue Society (ADS), which is an organisation sponsored by arts-inclined HIVOS (owned by George Soros), Hanns Seidel Stiftung (another German Christian foundation), Open Society Institute and the Soros Foundation Network (owned by George Soros), The Asia Foundation (organised by the CIA), The Japan Foundation, The Nippon Foundation, The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), The Rockefeller Foundation, The Rotary Foundation, The Sasakawa Peace Foundation and others.

Is it any surprise that CNN wants to interview Anwar and not our PM? Clearly, Anwar Ibrahim has very close connections with neo-conservative thinkers in Washington and is an expert at sowing the seeds disunity in this country. Now is the time for the nation to stand together but Anwar is the shaft that is driving us apart. Would you still put your trust in Anwar? Think carefully.
