Selangor tells Jais to return Bible copies

The Selangor government has instructed its executive councilor in charge of Islamic affairs Salehen Mukhyi to assist in the return of the seized copies of the Bible to the Bible Society Malaysia (BSM).

This follows the attorney-general's announcement that the case is closed and no prosecution will be made.

"The state government has asked Salehen and state legal adviser Nik Suhaimi Nik Sulaiman to assist the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) to return the case items," Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said today.

Jais seized 321 copies of the Bible in the Bahasa Malaysia and Iban languages from BSM's office in Petaling Jaya in January.
