The Killing House in Cherok Tekun

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police have detained two Myanmar nationals and located the house in Cherok Tokun here where the recent killing and butchering of Myanmar nationals were carried out.

State police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi said the two Myanmar nationals, aged 30 and 40, were detained in a raid at the village where they had been living in two rented units for the past four months.

It is learnt that the duo had been living in one unit and carried out the killing and butchering at another unit six doors away.

Dismissing communal hatred among Myanmar nationals as the cause of killings, Abdul Rahim explained that the killings were more revenge attacks mainly over debts and jealousy among them.

On November 24, a human head wrapped in a package was found outside a restaurant in Taman Impian Ria here.

Residents in Sungai Bakap meanwhile found a headless torso and a hand inside a gunny sack in a canal on Thursday.

On Monday, a human head and left arm were found in a plastic bag in Machang Bubok. Police have so far detained 15 Myanmar nationals to facilitate investigations.
