Malaysians are often entertained by the antics of a seasoned joker who seldom ceases to humor us with his lies or tall tales.
In 2008, that joker made a hyped and over-dramatized claim that on September 16, 2008, 31 Barisan MPs will cross over to Pakatan Rakyat. That claim never materialized.
He said there would be a shadow cabinet after the 2008 tsunami. Until today, that Shadow Cabinet remains in his shadow.
In true GE tradition, this joker spun another yarn that 40k illegal voters had been flown in to vote in GE 13 only to deny ever making the statement months later. Remember - he provided no evidence of flight details, bus operators and other logistical evidence to support his allegation.
In mid-August 2013, several news portals have quoted Anwar as confirming rumors of talks between him, Najib, and former Indonesian vice-president Jusuf Kalla. The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement that Anwar’s claim was “a creation and invention” made in the opposition and Anwar’s own political interests.
Just a few days ago, Anwar was deported from Japan soon after arriving at Narita Airport. He claimed that the officials apparently denied him entry for a previous conviction in 1999, and for what they described only as a “latest report” saying it was due to hidden hands that fixed the deportation alluding to interference from the Foreign Ministry, a claim that has been vehemently denied by the Ministry. Most shamefully, Anwar failed to reveal that the Japanese government does not allow entry to anyone who has been convicted of a violation of any law or regulation of Japan, or of any other country, and has been sentenced to imprisonment with or without work for 1 year or more, or to an equivalent penalty.
That deportation was carried by international news is absolute disgrace of the highest order for the highest leader of the Opposition!
As if that was not enough, the circus of antics continued today when PKR Youth today led a small group of protesters to call for a boycott of Japanese products outside the Japanese embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Secondly, the protesters also stomped on posters featuring the Japanese flag. Thirdly, the PKR Youth Chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin submitted a memorandum to the embassy seeking an explanation and apology for Anwar's disgraceful deportation.
There is absolutely no necessity for any monkey display of disrespect for the flag of a nation nor is there a necessity to make such demands. I am sure a phone call would have sufficed but of course, those PKR circus members could not resist another attention-seeking opportunity. The Japanese embassy reportedly told media that Anwar was barred, as he did not obtain a special permit, a requirement for those who have been convicted of a crime.
Perchance Anwar has lied so many times that he himself genuinely forgot that he had been convicted of sodomy and corruption (verdict overturned in 2004) was released from prison then as he had already served his sentence for corruption.
Perhaps he had also forgotten that he did get the permit the previous times he visited Japan.
Perhaps he has also forgotten that Japan, which has strict immigration rules, has refused entry to many people over the years, including Hollywood celebrities and famous personalities such as Russell Brand, Paris Hilton, Bobby Fischer, and even Paul McCartney. Did they hold protests outside the Japanese embassy in their county or step on the national flag of Japan?
Nope. Only Anwaristas do that. Only Anwaristas think they own the world and the world owes them an explanation, a peace talk or two or even a shadow cabinet thrown in for good measure!
So what will you do, Malaysians? Will you continue to watch Anwar play to the galley, strutting around muttering fabricated myths on his stage, which is fast falling apart?
The crowd is diminishing. Even his protestors are a pitiful lot. That only thirty turned up speaks volumes for this once-upon-a-time leader whose curtain call has come many times and yet he still thinks of himself as a political commanding a huge audience at prime time TV. Those were the days….
Give it up, Anwar and Anwaristas! I am sure you all have had more than your fair share of international shame and disgrace. Go home and think of how to speak truthfully. Learn from PM Najib - make and keep promises.
