The newspaper claimed that like several past Malay leaders, she would eventually realise that she was being "duped" by DAP.
"Like other former Malay DAP members, Awang believes that one day Dyana Sofya will leave the party in regret," said the writer, a pseudonym used by the paper's senior editors.
Writing in its weekend edition Mingguan Malaysia today, 'Awang' said Dyana is being used to cover up DAP's allegedly "racist" reputation.
"DAP's strategy is the same as before, using Malays to create a smokescreen to show as if it is a multi-racial party.
"The reality is DAP fights totally for one race," it said.
As "proof", Awang said several Malay leaders had already left DAP after they purportedly realised that they had been "duped".
"People like Tunku Abdul Aziz, Ahmad Ton, A Rahman Manap and Mohamed Razali have 1,001 stories about DAP," it said.
Yesterday, DAP announced Dyana, party supremo Lim Kit Siang's political secretary, as its candidate for the Teluk Intan by-election. She will go up against BN's candidate Gerakan chief Mah Siew Keong.
Nomination day for the Teluk Intan by-election is fixed for May 19 while polling day will take place on May 31.
Dyana's candidacy has caused a stir among Umno leaders like Wanita Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, and pro-Umno cybertroopers had even started attacking her before the announcement.
Utusan and its owner Umno, a Malay-based party leading a coalition of largely race-based partners, makes regular ammunition of attacking DAP as a racist Chinese-based party.
